Marvel toys have been fast and furious this year with the release of several series of Marvel Legends back-to-back. DC hasn’t been as strong this year with their toy releases, though DC Essentials is starting to ship and from what I’ve heard, they are pretty neat figures.
Back in stock from Marvel Legends will be a very limited supply of the Avengers Infinity War Series 1 figures including the elusive Iron Spider. I doubt he will last the week, but I have more of just him on order as well. The very popular Infinity Gauntlet role-play toy is also due back in this week and is perfect for recreating the snap heard round the world. We will also be receiving more of the most recent Deadpool wave so if you want Bishop, Omega Red and some of the others, you have one more chance to grab these before they go. I also have more Marvel Legends Human Torch figures which were the former Walgreens’ exclusive on their way back in as well.
Speaking of Marvel Legends- we still have a few of the X-Men Legends figures in-stock still but character selection is starting to get limited with Gladiator, Magneto and Wolverine as the last holdouts. Marvel Cinematic Universe 10th Anniversary Legends have started to all come in including the Captain America/Crossbones two pack, the Iron Man, Thanos, Dr Strange three pack, Thor and Sif, Ant-Man and Yellowjacket as well as single figures of Iron Man Mark VII, Red Skull and Ronan the Accuser. The facial printing technology on these newest MCU figures have been uncanny, so if you like the live-action versions of these characters, these figures might be right up your alley.
DC Collectibles has gone through many incarnations over the years including the recent DC Icons series. DC is now making their DC Essentials series which brings back your favorite DC characters in 7″ scale and with multiple points of articulation. Shipping this week will be Superman, Brainiac, Aquaman and Black Manta. Future figures include Batgirl, Joker, Nightwing and more. For fans of the DC Multiverse line from Mattel, I should have some of the Batgirl of Burnside wave which features a King Shark Build-A-Figure in stock within the next week or so.
That’s all for me this week- look forward to a report from Heroes and Villains in next week’s column!
For those reading this online, I am going to start archiving past articles that only made it into the print version of the Weekly Planet- start looking for those soon! See you next time!
