Avengers: Infinity War is making all sorts of splashes at the box office- and it has carried over to the Marvel Legends line as well- our recent shipment of Hasbro’s Avengers: Infinity War Marvel Legends Series 2 figures sold through almost immediately. Fret not however, as we have more cases on reorder which should hopefully get to us within the next couple of weeks. The big sellers in the line were Black Widow and Thor, both based on their current film appearances and utilizing Hasbro’s new digital face printing technique which gives all of the figures with actor likenesses a mostly uncanny appearance- Widow and the Wasp I think benefit the most from this new style of sculpting as the Scarlett Johansson and Evangeline Lilly likenesses are excellent. Thor is fairly decent and Ant-Man’s is over the top with the smirking Paul Rudd sculpt. Black Knight is the next most popular figure in the wave, with his comic-accurate styling and interchangeable heads. Ant-Man and Wasp are both double packed but have been moving fairly briskly and Malekith is doing OK for a figure that was a repaint/rerelease of a previous San DIego Comic Con exclusive figure. If you are looking to get some or all of this wave when we get it back in, let me know and I will do my best to help you out.
If you’re otherwise looking to scratch your Infinity War fever with what we have in stock- the wave 1 Iron Man is still available as are Proxima Midnight, Songbird, King Cobra and Taskmaster, the latter four who all feature the pieces to build the movie version of Thanos. The entire Black Panther wave is also back in stock if you need T’Challa to beef up your collection or if you want to get everyone so you can build Okoye as well and have another Infinity War castmember join the ranks. ( I personally want to recreate the scene where Wanda, Widow and Okoye are fighting Proxima Midnight- and I just may do that!) Speaking of Wakanda, the Black Panther film releases on home media next week, so this wave is a must-have for all you Marvel Cinematic Universe fans out there who might want something to coincide with that. For the younger set, we have the basic line of 6″ figures with less articulation but still some decent sculpts available- including Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Iron Man, Star-Lord, Rocket and Groot and the Hulk. Each features accessories and an Infinity Stone. There is also a wave 2 of this line scheduled to arrive soon which features Doctor Strange, Iron Spider, Gamora, Falcon and Scarlet Witch in addition to repacks of Iron Man and Cap. There are also both the deluxe and regular 12″ Titan Hero figures which include sound features if you get the deluxe figures. Iron Spider, Thor, Star Lord, Black Widow and Cap make up the sound FX line which also includes a larger Iron Man figure with even more bells and whistles. Other than that, we also have most of the Funko POPs available, though Thanos, Thor, Groot and the Hulkbuster are currently sold out.
Switching over to DC for a minute, the blink and you’ll miss it John Wesley Shipp Flash figure as well as his wave cohort, the Val Kilmer Batman Forever Batman Deluxe DC Multiverse figures should be back in sometime this week. This particular Flash figure is definitely a contender for my annual best of the year list- so if you want one- get it as soon as you see it because it’ll likely be gone in a Flash. Future figures in this line include a Danny DeVito Penguin and a Lynda Carter Wonder Woman.
Solo will be out in a few weeks and has been doing brisk ticket sales, the entire range of Funko POP are currently available as is the excellent Donald Glover Lando Calrissian Star Wars Black Series figure, the Solo movie Han Solo figure as well as the Range Trooper. Qi’Ra is currently sold out but is on backorder, so if you need another Emilia Clarke figure for your collection, check back with us.
If you didn’t make it down for Free Comic Book Day, the FCBD Saga Lying Cat Prevews Exclusive POP which released on that day is still available for purchase. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t look great.
