Fresh off his silver screen appearance in last year’s Thor: Ragnarok, the Hulk is back as a jumbo-sized action figure from Diamond Select. Clad in his gladiator outfit, the Hulk is sure to be a very popular piece with action figure collectors. Marvel Select figures in general are very well received, but larger characters like The Hulk, Juggernaut, The Abomination and Venom always seem to move faster- probably because you get a lot of toy for your money. Featuring multiple points of articulation and movie-accurate costuming and accessories, the Gladiator Hulk should be on your must-have list this week.
Nobody has ever accused the Last Czarnian of being cute, but he is now! Funko, DC Comics and Previews/Diamond have teamed up to bring some of those late 1980s/early 1990s characters to our Funko POP collections- Blue Beetle and Booster Gold were first, now Lobo is here! Lobo comes in two styles- one blood spattered, the other not. Lobo carries his gun and hook while chomping on a cigar. Space dolphins not included.

NECA–
Kratos is coming back in the brand new God of War videogame. To celebrate- NECA has crafted two action figures based on his current look- one in 7″ scale, the other in 18″ scale. Both are available on our shelves now.
Spider-Man makes his debut in NECA’s 18″ line with a figure based on last year’s Tom Holland vehicle. Featuring multiple points of articulation and accessories, this one should be a hit with Spidey fans.
For Gremlins fans out there, the ultimate Gizmo is back in stock, so grab one while you can, but please don’t get it wet, don’t feed it after midnight and don’t expose it to very bright light.
Kidrobot and NECA have teamed up to bring back MadBalls and this time around, they are mashed up with some of your favorite movie villains- Freddy! Jason! Leatherface! Alien Xenomorph and Facehugger and the Predator! Formerly exclusive to Best Buy, these are now available from us too!
Funko–
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Series 2 should be complete by the time you read this column as Dark Witch Willow should arrive soon.
Masters of the Universe Orko, Stratos and Evil-Lyn have arrived as well which completes series 2 of the He-Man POPs.
Sideshow Collectibles–
One of last year’s biggest movies was Wonder Woman and now a gorgeous Premium Format figure based on Gal Gadot’s portrayal can be yours- featuring the character as she appeared in Batman V Superman, the Wonder Woman Premium Format features gorgeous sculpting on the outfit, the weapons, the character base as well as the likeness of current Wonder Woman Gal Gadot. With Wonder Woman the breakout character of the DC Films, this figure though pricey, should be a good one.
Bandai/Tamashii Nations:
From last year’s Spider Man Homecoming– comes this deluxe figure set featuring Spider-Man in his homemade costume, a display wall and many interchangeable parts. The HomeMade Suit Spidey is fully poseable, and should pair well with the traditional costumed figure from last year.
News and Rumors:
We haven’t even seen the Deadpool Legends wave arrive yet in the US, but news broke today of a few figures from the 2nd wave of Deadpool Legends due out this fall. We should know more by Toy Fair, but the first three reveals are: Lady Deadpool, X-Men outfit Deadpool, and Omega Red. Bishop is heavily rumored to be in this wave too but is as yet unnanounced.
NECA is bringing back the Nightmare on Elm Street Furnace Diorama Set from a few years back, featuring a light up feature as well as a hinged door, this setpiece should definitely be an item for your Freddy collection.
That’s it for me this week. See you next time!
