After months and months of anticipation and in one case, over a year- Hot Toys has a bunch of cool new figures scheduled to drop within the next few weeks, with these toys most likely arriving sometime within the first two weeks of September.
First up will be the Suicide Squad Harley Quinn 1:6 Scale Collectible Figure. Harley is based on actress Margot Robbie’s likeness and will come dressed as she appeared in last year’s feature film. Featuring her Debbie Harry-inspired outfit, several interchangeable hands, plus her pistol and bat, Harley should be a fairly popular piece, especially being a first time character from Hot Toys.
Three other characters will make their Hot Toys debut as well with the release of Dr. Strange, K-2S0 and Wonder Woman. Dr. Strange will be based on the recent feature film starring Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch. Featuring Stephen Strange’s trademark costume, the cloak alone is impressive with the details on the embroidery. Dr Strange will also have the usual interchangeable hands as well as energy effects and a magic book. K-2S0 looks as he did in Star Wars: Rogue One. Crafted with a unique body sculpt, K-2S0 has light-up eyes, a grenade, a pistol and a figure stand and will feature several points of articulation.
Hot off her $800 million dollar(and counting…) worldwide box-office hit, the long-awaited Wonder Woman Hot Toys figure should finally be here in early September. Based on Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the Amazon Princess, Wonder Woman is based on her appearance in last year’s Batman V Superman. Wonder Woman will feature rooted hair, a newly designed seamless body, interchangeable hands, a sword and a shield. With Wonder Woman’s popularity at a new high, I can see this one being a very popular piece, especially with the home video release sometime in September.
Lastly- Mark Hamill’s appearance from the final scene of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now immortalized as a highly detailed Hot Toys figure. Clad in his Jedi robes and featuring interchangeable hands both normal and mechanical, Luke is the perfect appetizer to sate the Star Wars fan as we get closer to the release of The Last Jedi this December.
Veering away from Hot Toys territory, we are due to receive restocks on the Marvel Knights and Spider-Man Homecoming Marvel Legends waves this week as well as our Thor: Ragnarok shipment. Just as a refresher, the Thor Marvel Legends wave will feature movie versions of Thor, Loki and Hela along with comic characters Jane Foster Thor, Odinson and Ares. Buy all six and you can build a Gladiator Hulk figure also from Thor: Ragnarok. These will most definitely fly out of here as most Marvel Legends generally do.
There has been a lot of Funko product lately, including Justice League POPs, Horror POPs and more with a ton more items on the way, I will detail more of what we got in next week’s column. Thanks for reading!
