I haven’t had a chance to even look at the boxes yet, but I know we got a major shipment of Funko product in this week. As to what is contained within? I know we are expecting Rick and Morty Series 3 POPs, Lobster Johnson, the Darkwing Duck action figure, Wonder Woman Series 2 POPs, the Jessica Rabbit Rock Candy and more. Definitely check in with us if any of these interest you as I should have these and maybe some other Funko product I didn’t mention on our shelves by the time this article sees print.
There isn’t a ton of new stuff otherwise, though we should finally be seeing the beautiful Tweeterhead Wonder Woman statue this week. Based on the classic 1970’s era Lynda Carter TV series, this gorgeous statue would make a great gift for the Wonder Woman fan in your life. As there hasn’t been a huge amount of Wonder Woman merchandise crafted in Ms. Carter’s image, this should be a popular item for fans of the iconic TV series. This also being the unofficial year of Wonder Woman makes this an awesome idea for a present. Tweeterhead are fairly new to the statue business from what I can gather, Elvira was one of their first statues a few years back, then they also created the amazing Batman 66 line, including the awesome Yvonne Craig Batgirl statue from last year. Next on their agenda is a line of statues named for the classic Kenner Super Powers line. Each of the statues in this new set is slated to be designed by classic comics artist, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez. Garcia- Lopez did a lot of design work for DC during the 1980s and many of the classic images you see on t-shirts and posters were illustrated by him. Figures already announced for this statue series include a 70s era Supergirl in hotpants, The Joker, Steppenwolf, and Wonder Woman. Future offerings are rumored to include the likes of Batman, Donna Troy, Green Arrow and Black Canary.
Be sure to check in next week as I start my annual gift guide! See you then!
