Doomsday will be coming courtesy of DC Comics in a couple of ways this week. First off will be the release of Doomsday Clock, which will incorporate the Watchmen into DC continuity. The second is the release of the DC Icons Superman and Doomsday action figure two-pack commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the “Death of Superman” story arc. The two pack comes with multiple heads for Superman as well as the iconic rubble featuring Superman’s torn cape that was used on the standard cover of Superman #75 and each figure is fully articulated.
Not a lot else is scheduled to drop this week as far as toys go, but we did get a small restock on the Marvel Legends Marvel Knights wave, so if you’ve been itching for a Punisher figure after viewing the recent Netflix series, we should have a limited amount available along with his wave mates Blade, Bullseye, Elektra, Daredevil and Jessica Jones. If your Punisher fix isn’t sated by the smaller toy, we do still have the Hot Toys version based on his appearance on the Daredevil Netflix series. Sculpted to resemble Jon Bernthal, the Punisher follows the typical Hot Toys model with multiple points of articulation, several accessories, a figure base as well as a Daredevil mask.
This week is Thanksgiving week, which means Black Friday is around the corner. There will be a sale, so keep your eyes open on our social media or in this newsletter to see what deals we will have that day.
Next week- the CW’s annual crossover between their DC shows is set to air. From some of the spoilers I’ve been reading, I probably won’t be happy with it, but we shall see. Paying homage to a couple of classic DC stories, “Crisis on Earth-X” will feature evil versions of beloved heroes Green Arrow, Supergirl and the Flash who crash the wedding of Iris and Barry. The event will run over two nights and is said to feature nearly two dozen heroic characters including the live-action debut of The Ray. Supergirl and Arrow kick off the event on Monday, while The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow will finish the crossover the following night. And in January- Black Lightning will make his series debut on the CW, following the Flash on Tuesdays. This Thursday though, Black Siren is back on Arrow to ruin Oliver’s Thanksgiving. In the words of Grumpy Cat: “Good.”
Anyway that’s all for now- see you next time!
