The big news for the week is that we should finally be getting in the brand new series of Mattel’s DC Multiverse action figures by the weekend. To refresh your memory and also give you an idea of what might make great gifts for the DC fan in your life, here’s what is in the brand new series:
Gotham By Gaslight Batman- the Victorian Era-inspired Batman from the now classic Elseworlds story is now an affordable 6 Inch Action Figure. Batman comes with interchangeable hands and dedicated accessories.
Rebirth Wonder Woman- based on her current comic book attire, Wonder Woman is fully articulated and comes with her lasso and sword.
Rebirth Vixen- sure to be the popular figure in the wave, Mari McCabe makes her Multiverse debut in her current outfit. Vixen comes with a translucent eagle to simulate her super-power.
Rebirth Ray- also based on the current run of DC Comics, the Ray is dressed in his gold, white, and black outfit and has interchangeable hands and an alternate head. This is also his action figure debut in the Multiverse line.
Each of the DC Multiverse figures comes with a piece of a build-a-figure of Lex Luthor in his recent superhero gear from the pages of Justice League. Collect all four and get the 5th figure as a bonus.
Not a part of the latest series but still cool all on its own is the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman figure which is part of the deluxe Multiverse line that features the media versions of all your favorite classic DC heroes. She should be here around the same time as the above Multiverse series. Lynda’s Wonder Woman comes with a character base, as well as a cloth spar-spangled cape. I see her being overwhelmingly popular, so if you want one, I would act fast.
Funko- DC TV is still going strong on the CW and we will be getting in a few characters from that series coming in. There will be a new version of the Flash, a restock on Kid Flash as well as a brand new figure of Vibe. Currently available from the DC license is the Specialty Series flying Superman POP vinyl, along with the Previews Exclusive Death, Deathstroke, Swamp Thing and Lobo vinyl figures.
For higher end items, we have two different versions of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman from her eponymous film including the Hot Toys Amazon Training Armor figure and the NECA 1/4 scale figure in her traditional outfit. There is also the Justice League Wonder Woman Hot Toys figure for fans of the Amazon Princess.
That’s all for me this week! See you next time!
