The very first Mac Plus, owned by Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, is on sale now. The original creators of the Mac presented Roddenberry with the computer, to which he featured in Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home. (See the clip above). It was one of the first occurences that Roddenbery utilized modern technology in his work.
Now the Macintosh 128 is on sale courtesy of Profiles in History, and it will cost an arm and a leg.
This amazing artifact, which is accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from Gene Roddenberry’s son, Rod, will be a special addition to Profiles in History’s October 8-9, 2009 auction of Hollywood memorabilia.
