ONE STEP BEYOND
Writing for the Forbidden Planet blog, or the Weekly Planet in shop newsletter is unlike writing for other media. For starters, unlike my blog, webcomics or reporting for other websites, you guys and gals actually […]

The top picks for this week on many reviewer’s lists will probably include IDW’s X-Files Season 10 #1, the comic book continuation of the hit paranormal investigator drama which started it all. It will probably also […]

All of the Forbidden Planet crew had an excellent time this past weekend on Free Comic Books Day! I’m sorry I couldn’t make it out in person to see everybody, but I unfortunately don’t exist […]
Age of Ultron continues to improve, though it had little room to get worse. Issue six was very good, and shows what this series could be. I have to print a mild retraction: I gave […]

The best comedians are often self-loathing, depressed freakazoids. Eric Powel, writer and artist on The Goon must HATE himself more than a Slayer fan who has run out of razor blades, because that cat is […]
Toy Fair has happen and me start this article by thanking whatever Hasbro employee is reading this site on the regular, or stalking me elsewhere, internet or in real life. The fruits of your research […]
(note: This weeks column will be structured like a Choose Your Own Adventure. If you do not understand what a Choose Your Own Adventure story is you should call your parents and ask them why they didn’t give you a better childhood.)
So here we are again. Me at my computer, drinking chocolate milk like an adult. It’s 3 AM. I had a really long day and I don’t want to get into the details. On the bright side I had dinner at a Chinese restaurant next to Peter Scolari. I also thought I recognized the guy sitting on the other side of the room but I realized after dinner that I thought it was Walter Cronkite and I am pretty sure he’s dead. So that was either not him or the craziest celebrity sighting ever. Peter Scolari isn’t dead, right? If he is, you all should check out this Chinese spot on 74th and Amsterdam. It’s like Dawn Of The Dead but with soup dumplings. Anyway, enough about me. What’s going on with you? If you are reading the newsletter in Forbidden Planet please proceed to PARAGRAPH 1. If you are reading the blog on FPNYC.com skip ahead to PARAGRAPH 2. If you are reading the newsletter somewhere outside the store please jump to PARAGRAPH 3. […]
Two days before humanity faces the Rapture or enters The Supercontext or, most likely, just plain wakes up to another Friday morning (EST, Greenwich Mean Time +2:00 if you’re in Botswana… your results may vary) […]
For the 5 of you who follow the adventure of Chris Troy and Fantasy Football, I wisely started the Patriots defense over the weekend. That was 25 points I needed. A shame it was up […]
There’s just too much comics news to keep up with. I’m still trying to unravel threads from the NYCC, and the next thing I learn is I missed out on news from the SDCC! Did […]
