Playghoul Entertainment for Monsters Signing

It’ll be a ghouls night out at Forbidden Planet coming up this Friday February 21st as the maniacs behind Playghoul will descend upon us for an in-store event of monstrous proportions.
“Playghoul is a chronological collection of Maila Nurmi appearances in pulp magazines from 1950 through 1964 and horror hosted with interspersed illustrated adventures by NYC’s own spook show performers, the Phantom Creeps! This project is presented to mimic how the content was originally available in pulp magazine format, but truly ruly this is a 166 page book that was entirely traditional offset printed and perfect-bound by hand by Lance Thingmaker at Creepy Cult! While certain photos have become iconic, these complete articles have never before been reprinted or collected… until NOW! This is a very limited run of only 666 copies.”

Special guests include:
Donald David, Playghoul cover illustrator

Andrea Sicco, illustrator of Oncoming Storm
Sara Antoinette Martin, illustrator of Space Mummies
Mike Decay, Playghoul creator, author, and spook show horror host at Phantom Creep Theatre
So if you’re a comic book creep, horror host homie, spook show enthusiast, or just like dead things, make sure to mark your calendar for February 21st from 6 to 8 PM cause you’re not gonna want to miss this!

Matt D has been a manager, buyer and event coordinator at Forbidden Planet since 2005 or maybe it was 2006. Who can remember? We didn't even have computers back then. A native New Yorker from the borough of Queens, raised on Sunday Funnies, Monster Movies and Rock N' Roll. What better place to end up than Forbidden Planet where he can use his position to influence the city's pop culture. A responsibility he takes seriously more now than ever due to New York's consistent change for the worse. The last thing NYC needs is another cafe or bank so thank whatever it is you believe in that Forbidden Planet is here to stay. Beyond the walls of FP, Matt is a publicly recognized expert in cult and horror cinema with a focus on VHS. He is the founder of Horror Boobs a collective that books screenings and distributes weirdo films, the producer of the documentary Adjust Your Tracking: The Untold Story of the VHS collector, the publisher of the Blood Video zine, and is regrettably responsible for resurrecting the career of schizophrenic Shot-on Video director Carl J Sukenick.
