Author’s Note: This title is a very funny play on the movie “Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead,” which everyone knows about and needs no explanation at all.
Matt Murdock is dead. Coincidentally, that vigilante hero Daredevil has also died. Weird, that. Their friends and loved ones will live on, as seen in the new weekly miniseries Man Without Fear, which debuts this week with an issue about Foggy Nelson. And while Kingpin, Daredevil’s fellow heroes, and his many ex-girlfriends will have to learn how to live on without Hell’s Kitchen’s greatest defender, death does not spell the end for Battlin’ Jack Murdock’s favorite son. Here’s a whole host of things that the Man Without Fear can do now that he’s dead.
1) See.
All good penitent Catholic boys go to Heaven. And one has to imagine the Lord must give the blind some sense of sight when they pass into the hereafter. Finally, many years after that tragic, ninja turtle-spawning accident, our good boy can see without the use of echolocation.
2) Talk to His Loved Ones
Matt, my boy. The people around you don’t have a habit of staying tremendously… alive, do they? But it’s okay, buddy. Enjoy a nice family meal like you can never, ever have because people keep dying. Share an awkward buffet line with several of your love interests.
3) Haunt Bullseye
That dude has it coming. He has goofed you and so many others up very badly and deserves some punishment for it. You, Elektra, Old Man Logan, Old Man Hawkeye… Many deserve vengeance for what Bullseye has done to them. Not enough of them get to become ghosts and get said vengeance.
4) Play a Harp.
Finally, some time to learn an instrument.
5) Get Written by Chip Zdarsky
Oh, yeah, that’s happening. And it is going to be goooooooood.
6) Get Drawn by Marco Checchetto
This is also happening. And it is going to be so goooooooooorgeous.
7) Coincidentally Meet Uncle Ben, Not Knowing Who He Is, and Forge a Friendship Made in Heaven with the Reason For Being of Your Friend and Contemporary Spider-Man, Only For Spider-Man to Perish After a Long & Tumultuous Life and Find This Unlikely Bond
Wouldn’t that be crazy??
All of these are great ideas, but to see what really happens, you’ll have to pick up Man Without Fear #1 today and Daredevil #1 in February!
