The Hulk is more malleable than he’s given credit for. Not always the blindly angry malcontent, Banner’s Other Guy has taken a number of forms. It’s The Twilight Zone for the superhero set, Black Mirror for the deep cuts of the Marvel Universe. The Hulk is intelligent. He has been betrayed by those he trusted. And he’s out for vengeance.
This is the Marvel book everyone is talking about and each issue is an affirmation as to why. I am frequently chilled reading THE IMMORTAL HULK. My jaw hangs open. It’s the first thing I grab the day it comes out. Y’all know I love the X-Men, but I’d push them in front of a bus to get every issue of this book in front of me right now.
This week, we welcome the Hulk into our store with IMMORTAL HULK VOLUME ONE – OR IS HE BOTH? It’s full of bad radioactive dads, and an incredible Rashomon tale of one time the Hulk went to church. Included in it is perhaps my favorite two page spread in the history of the Hulk, truly showing his size in a way I had never really considered. Please read this book. Come talk to me about it.
