Davide Gianfelice, the Italian artist whose fantastic work fills the pages of DC Vertigo’s Greek Street each month and splashed onto the American comics scene with his work on Northlanders, will be signing at FPNYC on Friday March 19th at 6:30pm.
That’s just one week after the 1st Greek Street TP (ONLY $9.99!) releases!
Boasting a “Greek Chorus” of sexy strippers, vengeful gangsters, a murderous youth and a disturbed clairvoyant teenaged girl, GREEK STREET is Peter Milligan’s reimagining of the brutal and visceral tragedies of Ancient Greece played out on the mean streets of modern-day London.
If you’ve not read Milligan and Davide’s Greek Street I suggest you get on your horse. It’s pretty terrific. But don’t take my word for it (cue Reading Rainbow ba–da–DUM)…
“…Crackles with Promethean Fire…” –Grant Morrison
“GREEK STREET roars out of the gate, asserting itself fairly quickly as something special.” – Newsarama
“The book has a great atmosphere…sex, violence, mystery, and…all the makings to be a good – even great – underworld drama.” –Ain’t It Cool News
You can also read the entire first issue for free here! There, wasn’t that good? It only gets better, too.
I’m excited we’re hosting Davide. I really loved his stuff on the first Northanders arc “Sven the Returned,” and he’s hella-talented. Scope this sketch he drew to promote our signing:
