Charlie Ellison is a dog walker/driver/gig economy success story. A little pay-per-clean here, some renting our her car and clothes to paying customers there. She’s also prominently featured on Reapr, a website where your murder is crowdfunded. Charlie’s just set an all-time high score. More people are willing to pay to see her dead than anyone in the world. And to the killer go the spoils.
With the help of a 1.4 Star bodyguard, Charlie will have to evade an entire world out to get her. And at the heart of it all one has to ask, “What exactly did she do to deserve this?”
The writing by Christopher Sebela (Shanghai Red) is exemplary. This book is chock full of wit and charm. And that’s to say nothing of the art from Ro Stein & Ted Brandt (Captain Marvel). It’s kinetic, expressive, and impossibly well laid-out. Each character is so distinct and unique!
I called this book one of the Best of 2018 and I stand by it. The first of what I hope will be many volumes hits shelves today! So grab Crowded Volume One and enjoy your new favorite book.
