The best superhero book of the last seven years has been Jason Aaron’s tremendous, millenia-spanning, mythos-redefining run on the God of Thunder. No book has packed more incredible moments of character, startling new character introductions, or moments that drop your jaw than this run of Thor. It’s so good, Marvel’s starting to put out complete collections before it’s even over. I cannot stress enough the quality of this book.
Excellence #1
Magic benefits only the exceptional. It’s time that we gave arcana back to the people. One legacy sorcerer sees a broken system that only he can fix in a brand new series from Image Comics.
Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me
Comics superstars Mariko Tamaki & Rosemary Valero-O’Connell bring us a brand new graphic novel about a relationship the envy of none. A cryptic psychic message to our hero tells him to break up with his girlfriend, but what results is a circuitous romance that hurts everyone around them. And with this creative team behind the wheel, you know this is going to be an incredible ride.
Freeze Volume 1
Everyone on Earth freezes except for one man. Only he has the power to bring people back. But man wasn’t meant to play God this way. Image’s newest intriguing series shows us fame, power, and loss as only a book like this can.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Volume 1
A brand new era for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Reimagined for the modern day, life at Sunnydale High is just as you remember it. With new Big Bads but the same cast of classic characters, this is a proper reboot completely overseen by Joss Whedon.
