Legend of Zelda Comics

Picture a young boy, probably seven or eight years old, wandering in an inhospitable land of crazed, stunted trees and huge mile high rock cliffs. The boy has no idea how he got there. He hears a cry for help, and without thinking runs to investigate. He finds a dying nursemaid who has lost her charge, a beautiful princess who has been stolen by creatures that are part goblin, part drooling pit bulls. […]

Jump Comic’s One Piece: One Piece, Two Piece, Red Piece, Blue Piece

Wow, it’s good to be back. The holidays this year were so nuts that we had to take a little hiatus. If any of you came by shopping last week you must have noticed that there were no new releases at all, in fact the only comics were some Fall Of Hulks thing and a Blackest Night issue. The good news is that it’s the first release week of the month and that means a million books you know you’ve been waiting for. […]

Heroes 4 Haiti

In light of this morning’s aftershock near Port-au-Prince I thought I’d do my small part in further highlighting a noble effort by members of the comic community to aid the victims of this tragedy. Heroes […]

December Rhymes With Delicious

Ohayo gozaimasu fellow anime fans. This week the manga news is small, but definitely still interesting. So let’s start with the big names. Vampire Hunter D the Manga Volume 4 comes in this week. I know with the 13th novel showing up just last week, all the D fans out there must be having a great December…or at least their friends know what to get them for Christmas. One Piece Volume 23 also makes it’s debut. […]

Manga: Pandora Hearts Bleeding

Good morning sunshines, welcome to another December edition of your favorite manga editorial. So if you didn’t get the hint from this week’s title Pandora Hearts Volume 1 comes out this week. In case you aren’t already familiar with her, the creator Jun Mochizuki is also the creator of Crimson Shell, the one-shot book that was released a couple weeks ago about the Witch Of The Rose defending people from the montrous Black Rose infected. Though somehow I think even though it’s being printed second to Crimson Shell, this is going to be her flagship series. […]

Bleach Kills Bacteria But Not Imaginary Monsters

This is our special Pre-Christmas issue, which I know might sound like it’s coming late, considering you have been listening to Christmas music on the radio and watching Christmas shopping commercials on TV for weeks now, but I believe that the Christmas Spirit shouldn’t hit until December…or at least after Thanksgiving. And here we are. Besides, this is the first week of December, which as usual means a ton of stuff is coming out, and quite honestly some awesome stuff to boot. […]

Manga New Releases: Shinjuku Say Wha?

Happy Thanksgiving folks and welcome to another exciting issue of your favorite manga update column. There’s a decent about of things showing up this week, but by no means one of those giant “everyting-comes-out-at-once” weeks. So if you have a lot of cooking and traveling to do, you will be glad to know there wont be 30 different books you know you have to pick up. But if you’re one of those who needs reading material because you can’t stand actually interacting with those creatures that call themselves your family, don’t worry there is still plenty of good stuff for you to distract yourself with. […]

Manga: Svelte Is A Fun Word

If you found the last two weeks of insane releases a tad hard on the wallet, you will be thrilled this week, there are less than ten titles showing up. Don’t get me wrong this week makes up for it in quality. It seems to be the kind of week for all those manga that regular people (ie: not otaku) read, Oishinbo Volume 6, Black Jack Volume 8, Pluto Volume 6, Vagabond Volume 30, and while those are all well and amazing, there is also Fullmetal Alchemist Volume 21, which came out really quickly this time around, Case Closed Volume 32 comes around, and Gurren Lagann Volume 3 is here. Like I said, it’s a pretty awesome week right? […]

New Releases in Manga: Manga = Love

This is definitely the week that has something for everyone. It’s not quite as massive a release list as last week, but then, that was the first week of the month and we are inching ever closer to the holidays. We’re seeing a lot of yaoi, shojo books, shonen series, books for grown ups and books for little kids. […]

How to Draw Spider-Man

With suitcase nukes and the proliferation of biological weapons, there’s a fairly good chance humanity could wipe itself out within, oh, say the next 48 hours. Should you be lucky enough to survive the coming biohazards and mutant attacks that follow, it shall fall unto you to rebuild our once great civilization. […]

How to Draw Batman

Apart from the summer of 2008 when Iron-Man was (briefly and strangely) the king of cool, Batman is the A-#1 comic-book bad boy that every living creature on Earth wants to be. Even actual bats! FUN FACT: do you know why the Dinosaurs went extinct? They all committed suicide when they found out it would be another few 100-million years before they could read “The Dark Knight Returns.” […]

Manga Pick of the Week: Chibi Vampire Volume 14

Hello one and all, this is gonna be a slow week, but we do have a few titles you’re gonna want. First up on the list is my pick of the week, Chibi Vampire Volume 14. Granted, I thought this series was going to end about 4 volumes ago, but I’m kinda glad it’s still pushing on. If it didn’t, we would not have gotten to meet her awesome grandmother, and get in on the family history. Not to mention the secret of why she’s the only vampire who gushes blood instead of drinks it. I’m not going to give any of it away, for the sake of any new readers, but I’m just thrilled it became so much more than a cheesy high school romance story. […]
