Titans Week part 1: The HGUC Gundam Mark II

Welcome to part one of two of Titans week! I’m going to start doing reviews with themes for the next few weeks, so you’ll see two reviews from me each week with something connecting the two together. This week I’m going to cover two mobile suits from everyone’s favorite fascist Federation police force with a really snazzy custom color scheme-the Titans! […]

Saturn Provocateur & Other New Manga for May

So this week is a small release week in quantity, barely even ten things are coming out, but the good news is, this week belongs t Dark Horse who is releasing a few choice titles for you guys. First on the list is the amazingly belated Hellsing Volume 10 by Kohta Hirano. Now this is supposed to be the final volume, and from what has been happening since Volume 9, it damn well better be. Aside from the fact that I don’t think the fan base can wait another however many years for an 11th Volume, let’s face it, I’ve been into the series since high school, it has been about 10 years, it’s time for it to end. Just as long Alucard…and therefor Allegra, ends up on top. […]

Gundam Double-OH YEAH!: The 4 meisters Gundam review part 3

Welcome back to Part 3 of my look at the Gundam 00 Mesiter Gundams. Head’s up for the two of you who care; we’re currently out of stock of any of pilot Allelujah Haptism’s Gundams on the 1/144th scale, so they will probably be a delay of some sort between parts 3 and 4. I apologize, but the 00 kits are some of the hottest Gunplas selling at Forbidden Planet, and we all prefer the customer getting first dibs on our stock than Loran and I. Worse cause scnario, we’ll concluded this in 2 weeks with a 1/100th scale kit for Allelujah. […]

HGUC Mass Production Guncannon Review

When the original Gundam 0080 model kit line came out in 1989, it really changed things for Gunpla. While they may seem really outdated by today’s standards, they were the first fully-snap together Gundam kits, not needing any glue like the Sentinel kits, or screws like the Char’s Counterattack kits. While they may have had issues like hip joints that popped out easily or ugly yellow polycaps like on the Zaku FZ, they were actually released as a part of the High Grade line when Bandai America released Gundam kits in the early 2000’s. […]

HGUC Rick Dias Review

by Loran When the HGUC line first started back in the summer of 1999, it kept things rather simple. Instead of covering all the main character units, fancy new OVAs, and stuff outside of the […]

The Arche Gundam: Finale

by Keith GENTLEMEN, BEHOLD! ANOTHER ARTICLE! It’s been kind of a long road working on the Arche so far, and progress to this point has been relatively slow. Thankfully, that won’t be the case this […]

HGUC Full Armor Gundam 7th Review

By Loran Boy, Bandai sure loves our money, don’t they? In the past few years, mostly through video games, Bandai has been having totally-awesome mecha designer Hajime Katoki redesign some of Kunio Ookawara’s M-MSV designs. […]

The Arche Gundam part 2

By Keith Welcome back, model-monkeys! Last time you were subjected to my semi-coherent pontification, we began construction of Bandai’s High Grade 00-series Arche Gundam. This week we’ll be continuing where we left off- moving on […]

Gooey Centers And Juicy Goodness

Well then, now that the initial flood weeks have gone by we are left with a much shorter release list, but we will not let you down! First off, Viz is releasing a couple new Japanese novels, those special kind with the anime flavor without actually being related to any one series. Slum Online by Hiroshi Sakurazaka (the writer of All You Need Is Kill) is about about boy named Etsuro who is a college freshman whose life sucks. So of course he gets drawn into the alluring world of MMORPGs where he can be an awesome karate master who can handle anything. In his digital fantasy, who will be his greatest opponent: the seemingly invisible Slasher Jack, or Etsuro’s would-be girlsfriend Fumiko? […]
