Kitbash Spotlight: Zaku Minelayer and Regelg
By Loran I’m sure you all know by now that I absolutely love kitbashing. To me, there’s hardly anything more fun than trying to fix a hole in my lineup that by taking an old […]

By Loran While all the rest of you were out enjoying yourselves with NYCC, I was at a friend’s house staying up until 5AM playing Gundam SEED Destiny: Alliance vs ZAFT II Plus (geez, what […]
by Loran It’s really weird how things seem to get started in Japan these days… Black Rock Shooter is one of those strange examples. She started off as a picture some guy drew, then another […]
By Loran Dreams really can come true, you know. Granted, this dream didn’t exactly come true in the way I wanted it to, but hey, that’s better than nothing. Ever since I first played Journey […]
By Christopher Troy Greeting Forbidden Planet faithful! At this time, we’re only a few hour away from the premiere Comic Book/ Anime event on the east coast: the 2010 New York Comic Con/ Anime Festival! […]
By Christopher Troy As much as I love reviewing toys and Gunpla, occasionally this gig can make a guy feel weird. No, it isn’t the fact that I’m an “adult” talking about toys. Much to […]
By Loran It’s no secret that I’m really not much of a fan of Gundam SEED, but once again that’s a discussion for another time. Time to talk about another kit, and you know, I […]
By Loran In the Zeta Gundam movies, only one new mobile suit was really recognized. Sure, we got the occasional custom-colored GM Custom or GM Cannon, but those were really just brief cameos. Heck, even […]
By Christopher Troy I’ll admit. It’s rare for me to pick up a new Gunpla when I’m not familiar with it. I usually wait until I’ve viewed the respected series/movie it originates from before I […]
By Loran Ah, Zeta Gundam. Widely considered by fans and critics to be one of the best-if not the best of all the classic Gundam shows. I personally think the original series wins that title, […]
By Loran Hey, something other than a robot for once! You know, despite my mixed feelings on the franchise, I’m glad I got into the Nanoha franchise. I always disliked getting into Magical Girl shows […]
by Christopher Troy I have a love/hate relationship with Capcom. I love me some Resident Evil and Street Fighter, the original Devil May Cry was the reason I bought a PS2, and like anyone who […]
By Loran Like I mentioned in my last review of the Master Grade GP02A, I get impatient sometimes-why wait for an HGUC when I can just grab a Master Grade to hold me over? Yes, […]
By Loran I’m going to be honest-I’m not much of a Master Grade person. Don’t get me wrong, they’re very nice kits-some of the best money can buy. But their more complex construction, silly hands, […]
By Christopher Troy I completely missed an update for August, but low and behold the latest in Gundam/Gunpla news from the FPNYC blog. This week we’ll be looking into new releases, other series Bandai has […]
By Loran This isn’t going to be so much a review, per se, as it will be an evaluation, if that makes any sense. I’m not going to be talking about Bandai kits this time-instead, […]
I gotta say, when Gundam 00 was first announced, I was pretty ecstatic and really looking forward to it-the setting sounded interesting and plausible, the mecha were a breath of fresh air, and the characters […]
By Christopher Troy Happy belated Labor Day FP readers. I’ve returned from Dragon*Con in Atlanta,GA, spending 4 days drunk and looking at people in odd fitting costumes. Now that I’m back, I’m here to feature […]
by Loran The Gundam video games, while seldom important to the “big picture” of the Gundam Universe, often give us nice little side-stories or chances to blow stuff up with our favorite mobile suits. But […]
In 1989, the launch of Gundam 0080 attempted to do something new with Gundam: Create all-new mecha designs to replace the ones from the original series-updates, if you will. A lot of the fiction from this time supported this idea, like the SD Gundam OVA episode where the SDs go into the “real” Gundam Universe, and the “MS Era” book, which took a look at the One Year War as if it were an actual war in history. Well, this cool retcon didn’t last long, as Bandai eventually decided to consider them just variants of the original suits as opposed to replacements. Still, they’re awesome designs, and represent one of the coolest design styles ever. […]
